It has occurred to me That perhaps time is not passing but that we are passing through time. Maybe that's why we say, "He passed away." Ida |

Cute Ida, Time is a dimension. It is a constant. When someone passes away, it means they pass from one existence, possibility to another. Time continues, just like width, length, and height continues. They are always there. Bobby |

VERY perceptive of you!... Many cosmologists describe a fixed 'Timescape' where what we call past, present, & future actually exist in simultaneity (like hills, valleys, and other features on a 'landscape') Time is NOT 'moving' (flowing or going anywhere)...it is only all the matter (including us) in the universe that is in constant relative motion with respect to all other matter and that fixed 'Timescape.' [we are like an airplane flying over a fixed landscape...the plane is, of course, doing the moving... not the hills and valleys; etc.] "Time flies?...ah no...Time stays...it is we that go!" Applause for this 'cosmological' write! |
