Sounds Of Silence

Sounds of the restless wind
Keep calling out your name
There's a voice in my mind
That does the very same.

The sounds of the raindrops
That fall from stormy skies
Sound the same as the tears
That fall down from my eyes.

The dialogue in my dreams
Repeats itself each night
I'm calling, “Please come back.”
As you walk out of sight.

Each of the beats of my heart
Is an echo of my love
And the prayer from my lips
Is all I ask from up above.

I hope I will hear your words
Whispering in my ear
As you say, “I love you!
And will, forever, Dear.”

But, the silence is deafening
Though, I hear everything, but you
And those unheard words of silence
Are going to break my heart in two.
