Felix learns early on that he’s not wanted, a “persona non grata”, in this world. He is a symbol of the shame and degradation that the world knows about, but doesn’t mention, no, it won’t be mentioned. Felix didn’t really plan it that way. Bobby |

Bobby, Felix is welcome over here anytime. If ever he finds himself on the wrong side of the pond, tell him to look me up.... John |

John, Felix and I say thanks. You're a kind person. You never can tell, Felix may show up on your doorstep sometime. He's been around. Bobby |

Thanks John, Wawa is no problem foodwise. He's not greedy. Now if Butch comes along--well, that's an entirely different matter. Of course Felix isn't picky at all. He'll eat whatever he is given. Bobby |

Thanks for the read. As I posted in some other forum, I dig on the Felix character. I couldn’t resist playing with this one… Felix knew by the age of 9 he was serially unwanted a persona non grata packing home on his back a permanent symbol of the deep black loneliness this world knows all too well but no one mentions, not even Felix who secretly planned it this way |

I always root for the 'under-dog'! Mind you, Felix is definitely not a dog! ~ Felix is a cat, is he not? lol ~ Sorry, I have been holding back saying that ever since I started reading his story. I adore "Felix the Cat". That cartoon character makes me laughalot! ![]() Loves 'n hugs to both you and Felix! Linda |

I wish I could say things have changed since Felix was a child but I can't. All you have to do is hear about what is on the Internet to know that things remain the same. Though Felix had a hard life he turned out to be very wise with a story to tell that may change someone's thinking. Ida |

Ida, No, things haven't changed that much. I don't have to go to the Internet to know that. All I have to do is have my eyes and ears open. We have loads of Felix's right here in the beloved hood. It's all part of the human condition, which was never designed to be easy. Bobby Bobby |

I was thinking the other day while watching a show on television where they were asking for donations to drill for water in Africa and I was thinking about Paris Hilton...as a child we don't have any control over where we are born, to who we are born, under what circumstances we are born, but as an adult we have a measure of control...sadly women like Paris Hilton take her good fortune and live for partying...James |

James, Paris most likely never had a chance to develop into more of a person that most people would really care about. Like Felix, she is shaped by her environment. I'm willing to give her a chance. There's no telling what the child (Paris) will develop into. I like a good party myself. Bobby |

Gentle Spirit, Life’s realities can be very painful. I think that’s true for everyone in one way or the other, at one time or another. I’m very happy that you enjoy reading about Felix. Bobby |

Dear RDB, Thanks for the invite. Before I really retired, I consulted many time in Australia, mainly in the Melbourne area. A smaller town named Altoona. I’ve also consulted in the Sydney area. I always enjoyed Australia very much. The people are very nice. Bobby |

working at the county "D.P.W.' (sorry, "C.A.O."...to be 'politically correct'... the term 'welfare' is 'out!'), I can surely attest to the truths of this ('reality therapy') write! There is an ever increasing number of the 'disenfranchised' amid the "Runaway American Dream" |

There is great pain when a child realizes that it is not accepted. Dear Bobby, your words are touching. Felix reacted no doubt in the best possible way, as he did in so many different difficult situations. love Margherita |

I was so tired when I wrote this earlier this morning. I really meant to say that I am sure that Felix does not want my sympathy - and after I posted it I thought that he might not mind the hugs. So, here's to you, Felix ... Hugs and a kiss on the cheek and some more hugs. Oh, and another hug or two. Maybe he once was not wanted, but I am sure glad that he is here. A |

Felix may be Persona Non Grata but he is loved by his readers. |
