“Lay your head down, I’ll tell the story. It’s called ‘Now Till the End of Time.’” “Ok Dad!” he said to me, his little eye’s did shine. “Now pull up the covers, right under your chin to keep the monsters out!” He looked at me and faithfully, did so without a doubt. I smiled down at my son, my one and only boy. And sat on down, upon the ground; his face was filled with joy. “Ok Dad, hurry up... Get to the scary parts!” “Hold your horses little man,” I said, “It isn’t time to start.” “Did you brush your teeth and finish your homework? Is there anything I should know?” He thought about it, smiled and said, “No Dad, I’m good...I don’t think so.” I opened the book and began to read, his attention all on me. The warriors battled and witches fled, the ghost’s of the Baron Sea. I didn’t stop reading but in-between pages, I watched my lovely child In awe of a book, listening to his Dad, his imagination running wild Half way through, he fell asleep. I gently closed the book. I watched for what seemed like hours before getting up to take a look. I gently reached over and quietly said, “I love you son, my wondrous little guy.” I turned around and reached for the door and froze at his reply. “Daddy I love you” he said, “and thanks for being there for me. You read me books and take care of things, I just wish Mommy could see. I know that she’s in heaven right now, I can feel her in this room. And one day,” he said, “I’ll see her again. Just hopefully not to soon.” Not a word came from my mouth, I stood absolutely still. These words came right out of this boy, my eye’s began to fill I hugged my son and told him what, exactly was on my mind. “I’ll always love you just like her, from ‘Now Till the End of Time.’” Better to die, and sleep |

Trevor, This is so awesome...I had to keep re reading it. The love you have for your son is so obvious & I can identify with that as it sums up the feelings I have for my daughter... A sad story but told with such depth & feeling of emotion. This is definitely going into the library to be read over & over again...Thank you for posting it. You are both so lucky to have & demonstrate that love for each other...Please do not stop telling each other of your love... John "Ignorance is the Enemy...." |

Yes, this brought tears also to my eyes. Such intense deep communication between you and your precious son ... and his Mommie too. Tugs at the heart. Keep your word! They need our love even more when they grow up and ... oh god!! love Margherita |

Sounds like you have a great kid there. Trevor. Save this poem for him. It will mean a lot to him someday. Ida |

Trevor I hope you are well. I kept this in my private library almost 10 years ago and it still resonates within me. Such a fine poignant write. Please re post it for any new poets Jack "Ignorance is the Enemy...." |
