Things that hang from trees Look me in the eyes when you tell me What’s really on your mind I can’t take knowing that all these things Are things better left behind But knowing is better than not knowing In this crazy world we live These things should hang up from the trees Up high and easy to forgive We should all have a choice To pluck from the trees The feelings we’d like to feel To put ourselves at ease The leaves are memories The branches points of time The roots they dig down deep The vines continue to climb Up the tree of forgotten past The thoughts and fears that haunt These memories that I would leave behind In time these passions daunt These things that hang from trees My emotions are now clear My wants and needs surpassed Of all I held so dear Better to die, and sleep |

We should all have a choice To pluck from the trees The feelings we’d like to feel To put ourselves at ease Melancholic write, well done and containing a lovely idea! love Margherita |

I was going to pick my favorite lines, but Margherita beat me to them... I enjoyed this, Trevor. Thank you. |
