Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

0 posted 2008-01-27 11:50 PM

Poetry Doodle

Have some tea with me and sit awhile.
I like your hat – it’s pretty.
One lump or two?  Is that dress new?
Was the train trip fast from the City?

Let’s sit here amid flowers blooming
I love the reds and pinks and blues
How time does fly!  It floats right by.
I haven’t seen you in a year or two.

Oh no! Is that rain that touched my face?
No, I am sure it is not a tear.
My friend is ill.  Yes, these are tears I spill.
But, your visit brings me cheer.

My friend, you came when I needed you
The years have simply washed away
It’s been so long that you’ve been gone
And now it seems as if you never strayed

Have more tea with me and sit awhile
Let’s let the hours float on by
Across the miles you always bring me smiles
But it is much nicer to sit side by side

Roniece,

The friend is you.  No, we have not known each other for years, but it feels like we have.  I was just doodling with thoughts and realized that you were there in my mind.

Always beautiful poem.

It would be very comforting to sit with a friend like you and have the experience recorded so beautifully.

yes...it must be quite wonderful to have 'friends' that match the
thoughts expressed in this write [particularly ones that don't simply
'disappear' when one hits divorce, downward socioeconomic mobility;
etc. (as if these things might be somehow 'catching')]

applause for this 'penning!'

Alison, I loved this.  What a lovely tribute to friendship in general and the specific friendship between you and Roneice!

The more I read in PIP, the more I think that poets should rule the world - alongside of perhaps more practical people, lol.

Oh, Alison, that is so sweet of you!  I would need a whole committee of Pippers to help me do justice to the world with you as Deputy Head Ruler!

I boiled the water for double strehth tea
then added ice to cool and dilute it.
Sugar ... out of lemon juice right now ...
Leftovers for lunch ...
Listening to oldies on the Internet ...
Tea with you, in spirit ...
So far, far away you are.
But I will ever want to have tea
with you, in Spirit ...
Always, forever, Jaime
(to a new and wonderful soul friend)
