How do we take for granted the joy of friendship? To say ''here is my hand brother take it..let me drive away dark clouds from your shoulders''. Many see solitary people and pass them by? If only they would offer them hands of kindness?Open up their hearts to their isolation? What crazy world sets man against man through no other reason than non altruistic caring actions? |

Sadly, many do just turn their heads, some from embarrassment, some perhaps from an innate lack of compassion. It's cold out there most days, but when a warm heart and hand reaches out... take it, cherish it, then return the favor, as I know you already do, Phil. Offering you my warm heart-hug and healing thoughts. |

Goldenrose, This is pretty good. I’d like it better, and I think it would make more sense if you changed: “Open up their hearts to their isolation?” to: “Open up their hearts to the others isolation?” Bobby |

Dear Phil, you touch upon the same issue here as I did in my "Those eyes". Truth is, we all claim good and generous hearts, but unless we all transform into LOVING SOULS the world can't be healed from these tremendous wounds. We can't spend our days exclusively in caring for all those in need, unless we decide to imitate Mother Theresa. We can make a difference with kind actions, yes, but what is really needed is a different management of the resources of this world and so the governments have en enormous responsibility. The gaps are intolerable, between the rich and the poor. Thank you for writing this sensitive poem. We all need to awaken to LOVE. When you live in a small town you may feel that you can be of help, in a big metropolis you feel that sporadic kindness is not enough, but you simply can't be everywhere with "hands to care". love Margherita |

I work my community service at the homeless mission and sometimes it's overwhelming how many there truly are here always been a kind and caring person but jail somehow changed me a bit though not so much that I don't stop and offer a hand once in awhile |

I'm 'revisiting' this fine 'penning' because of its important and powerfully expressed message; and, in hopes that being back near the top of the "P.I.P.-land" queue, it may garner more 'reads' and replies! continuing applause for this 'write!' |
