Remembering her ... in special ways I remember her at 50 I was but ten she'd wave a hand, and delved into age gracefully slicing through air and parting waters easily, almost giddily high styled and highly smiled she magnifified the act of wrinkling admirably, carefully, sensuously, well. I look at pictures of forty, fifty, sixty years gone ~ she looked good, always, always, and while I'll never mirror her, perhaps her genes will fit my soul I hope so, I would like to carry on with her goals… and if I mature… when I grow old… I’ll borrow her style and class knowing it’s no act refining grace to polish fact is an art defined a part re-mined through show and tell as she told me, very well… act the age within your heart and the fountain of youth will never depart. Thank you, Grandmother, for all of the gifts you delivered to me. ~*~ Elizabeth Givens February 12, 1912 - November 26, 2004 |

Karilea, Funny that you should not think yourself all of the above. When I met you, I think I met this woman! I met a woman filled with youthful wonder and grace! hugs, misce' |

Karilea, This was a wonderful tribute to your grandmother. How nice that you were able to see her grow old gracefully. I am afraid the grandmothers of the future may be superficial creatures with plastic faces, fake boobs and not much substance. iDA |
