X+Y=? If my heart wants me to, I will 'cause living alone is worse than another little pill I take to steady myself in the night colored devil red and virgin white down on me knees I find that love is the debilitating disease and all my wallet girls are off in there little worlds and I'm quite aware love can't be found in them not for me, not for boys with imaginary friends so I'm dangling on the end of a rope of fire and it's a new low to be getting higher this gun is for hire A comet of a girl shooting lonely through the sky a Pandora's Box of a boy scared to find the hurt and the reasons why Can't understand what I'm feeling can't understand women at all I've been broken and I've been reeling 'cause maybe X+Y = nothing at all So it'll take the whole of my life, I'm sure trying to discover the secret magic between his & her and dip my heart in its warming glow but don't tell me it's a dream, I already know 'cause I awake depressed in the night shivering in a raw and so very real fright grasping at a whisper of a girl who's somewhere in her little world and not a thought of me enters her mind, I've no doubt not of me, a boy who's lost, doesn't know what it's all about but if I can take the heat in every sick heartbeat I'll fight to feel complete A puzzle piece of a girl I'm cramming to fit into my dreams tonight a spinning top of a boy watching as the world blurs at the speed of light Don't quite know where I'm going don't quite care anymore I'm the wind, raining and blowing wishing X+Y = something after all But no, no, no it's like spring it comes and goes too quickly to feel anything such a small, small dose So the next time, boy you'd better beware your fears or maybe someday X+Y = a question mark painted in tears "In her soft wind I will whisper, |

This reminds me of a poem I had written back in 2005.... Planet XY You touched me there, in my darkness, where void was, you pulled back the curtains, allowing warmth, light, inside, the emptiness became fullness, tears were from joy, laughter, you took me to the moon, my feet have never touched earth since, I remain, standing, waiting, for you to land your ship, unfurl your flag, surrender~surrender, allowing your heart, to be my universe once more, discovered, undiscovered, we discovered eachother, on planet XY. |

"A comet of a girl shooting lonely through the sky a Pandora's Box of a boy scared to find the hurt and the reasons why" This is a wonderfully complex yet simple write. It has its own rhythm and rhyme, its own sensibilities, while it reveals the true angst that rides love's comet trail. |
