~Embracing The Light Within~

The sun filtered through the ivory curtains
bringing with it a brand new day
and she awoke with a sense of peace
a new resolution now lighting her way.

Inside she felt a certain sort of calmness
no longer was she afraid to face the light
but rather she reached out to embrace it
her visions now clearly within her sight.

She felt her strength abounding
knowing not from whence it came
but she knew from this day forward
she would never be the same.

She strolled past the blooming orchards
to sit in her favorite wicker chair
no tears were falling from the willows
or from this lady, oh so fair.

She had made peace with herself
awaiting the coming of each 'morrow
for she had finally released the pain
that once held her in loves sweet sorrow.

Oh, Donna - can't you have a post-conclusion where he comes back???

This was very, very, beautiful - along with the whole story of the series - and it was probably - OK, definitely - more realistic, to end this way - also strengthening for people who draw from it in their own need, but I was soooooooooo hoping that he would come galloping back on the beautiful horse to stay forever more . . .

I keep thinking, "If I just read it one more time, perhaps I will discover that there were happy-ending stanzas at the end that I missed . . . but then I follow that with knowing that they weren't there - believe me, I kept looking at those blue-shaded borders to make sure they were really there.

Lovely, lovely work Donna.  Please can we have more of these.  I loved every moment of them, including my Donna-inflicted impatience to get to the next one before it was posted!

A fitting conclusion and a beautiful poem in it's own rights.

What a graceful way you have about you.
I'll have to go back and read the others in the series.

This was very inspiring, thank you for that.
You would have made Emily Dickinson proud.

Happy Fourth!

This series of yours is so heart warming, Donna.
Through all the tears and the happiness we've known, love will find a way.

It's a beautiful thing, but you're making me cry.  *sniff*

This, dear Donna, is such a gentle, wise, beautifully written, uplifting conclusion.

We are loved, even through love's sorrow, indeed. And the sorrowful heart regenerates its ability to love and to shine.

Love and hugs.

What a wonderful way that you brought this story to its climax. You have a wonderful talent my dear. Keep up your great writing.
