it is either tao or it is not tao and if it is not tao, it is tao. ~anonymous we all breathe the same air differently tao comes in all forms from the great temple between lions of paradox and reality which change places when we are not looking tao comes from wrinkled mouths living on indian pueblos from young mothers buying apples in the market tao comes from tiny children leaning from windows where they wait for they know not what and still they want it tao comes from lovers running in the night toward or away from tao comes from lying tongues oh yes tao comes from lying tongues broken hearts tears breasts that are beaten clothes that are torn in anguish tao comes when we least want it and always when we need it |

Kate, There is a thread that I recently ran across some place in this site asking who we missed. I have missed you. I have missed you and I have missed your poetry. Reading you again is like receiving water after a long thirst - and you sated that thirst tonight. Wonderful poem, wonderful you ~ welcome back to PiP. Alison |

The Tao is everything, and it is nothing. Just as we all are. "The tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao The name that can be named is not the eternal Name." -Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching Kinda sounds like quantum mechanics, doesn't it? Arthur C, Clarke wrote a story called "The Nine Billion Names of God". I think you'd enjoy it. |

The Lady, It IS Great to read and ponder your poetry once again. Your poetry is very unique, with a depth very creatively expressed. I love it and am keepin' it right safe in my library! ~miscellanea~ |

a fine and most interesting write! I am especially fond of: “between lions of paradox and reality which change places when we are not looking” much applause for this ‘penning!’ |

I'm back having read your poem again. I was fighting sleep the first time as well as being too thrilled to see you back here again, to take in your poem properly or even reply with any cohesion. I really enjoyed your poem - but then I always do, and it was so good to experience a Kate-poem again. As Cathy and others said, your poetry is deep, dynamic and enthralling. I have a reasonably good idea as to what tao is, having read your poem, the replies and what I found on the Internet, but I really would appreciate your interpretation of it. - Owl |
