More often than is good for him,

Angelo is exposed
to the bloody mess of violence,

with gun shots ringing
wildly through the back alley.

It scares him sometimes.

He wakes at night,
and feels his heart
just thumping away.

He knows he must be brave.

He knows the morning will come.

He knows that he must,
and will,
face another day.

It’s the only way possible
for him to have a life.

Angelo does want a life,
and always will.

Of course, Angelo thanks you for your concern, and good wishes.

Most Angelos of our world survive very well, as strong, wise, and kind people.

Thank heavens for them.

Right now they are out on the playground celebrating the 4th with fireworks. It will sound like a war zone here in the hood until the fifth.

Yes Angelo has lived his life, all the way from the hood, to being a PhD math professor.
