Listening to every heart

He Spoke

“of
      meadows sprinkled
in fragrant wildflowers
with
forests filtering
      crimson sunsets”

and so transformed
was I

to a glen in green,
yellow and young blue
spark'l'ings

early spring delights,

scents of grasses
growing
and those special well-sprung
mists
where only the purest breezes
blow

I stayed
in the glen
to breathe in the warmth
of this golden day

smelling pungent ground
moved by worms
in my stay

I delighted in the sun
of this, your delay,
felt the warmth
saturate my shoulders
warming my legs
encased in black jeans

pulling in the sun

lifting my face
to the sky
freckles popping
in the silence

smelling
feeling
holding in
nature

surrounded
in His love

and knowing,
realizing
laughing,

in gay delight

the thought of
being surrounded
by poets…

nature’s delight.

Today, I
shall stay
in the warmth of the glen

and love
and know the gift
of humans.

Sweet Sun, sister of my heart, this is outstandingly good, and I truly and utterly adore it. I am supposed to be studying but I had to slip into PiPs for a sip of beauty.

What a lovely tribute to them and how wonderful that we can share it too and breathe in this lovely poem!  Just what I needed before I go to sleep - oops!  I have just seen the time - I have to get up in a couple of hours - but PIP magic, as always, has had me enthralled for more time that I can afford - but so difficult to go out of PIP.  Strange how the entrance door to PIP swings wide and welcoming, but the exit door always seemed jammed.

What pulled me in:

"nature’s delight."

What I took away:

"the gift
of humans."

A terrible, wonderful gift we've been given.

Thank you for taking my senses through  the meadow.  I could feel the air and sense the smell of the ground.  Nicely written, Karilea.

When cleaning out my bookshelves today, guess what I came across?  Yesterday's Love!
I thought I had loaned it to someone a couple of years ago and they hadn't returned it...  You know what I'll be re-reading this summer!
