When Morning star rises,

peeks her sleepy head

over yawning trees

and greets with smile

joyous songbirds

chanting complex melodies

in the awakening leaves;

as she kisses her Night star adieu,

I stretch and reach for you,

my morning dew,

to taste love’s renew

before beginning

a new day.

My spirit cannot awaken

any other way.

Like the poet above me said, loved the essence of this piece. And I found one phrase that was original to my newly (poem) reading eyes, "in the awakening leaves;" Sweet.
