Paris Upon an Afternoon

"Time passes slowly and
sincerely when someone dear is near."

Over poached eggs and French bread
we gaze into each others eyes,
hard to look away even if we tried.
Her eyes are sending a message,
saying that she wants more,
more than to share coffee and eggs
she wants to make a score.
"Yes, yes, yes I feel that way too,
every moment that passes between us
has made me want more of you."
She takes a sip of coffee,
she places her cup on the table,
and then she softly rubs my leg
to tell me that she is available.
She inquires, "What shall we do
with the rest of this afternoon?"
I tell her partly in French,
"I have a lovely bedroom."
She says, "Of course I want that too
but before we do that, I wish to
share a sweet afternoon with you."
So we bought some ham sandwiches,
some pastry and some wine,
we bicycled into the Country
singing French songs that rhyme.
We stopped to bounce pebbles
upon a silky stream,
along comes a man on
a bicycle cart and we
buy some heavenly icecream.
I fill her basket with flowers
she gives me our first kiss,
we smile and touch sensually
enjoying the blessings of bliss.

Such a sweet poem, James. Kudos to you. Your imagery was beautiful, especially the poached eggs and french bread bit.
