Fantastic!  No one can ever say that you haven't learnt a thing or two ...   I hope you don't mind but I've passed this on to my sons.

And you said it in Italian! Two glorious syllables, the most delightful of melodies expressed in words. This one word associated to your title is simply witnessing a PERFECT INTUITION. Glorious!

Recently I had a tremendous nightmare and struggled to get out just that one word to get her attention and assistance "MAAAAAMMMAAAAAA" and she was instantly there to wake me up (though it were my husband's fists on my back, as he shuddered at the sound of my voice!).

And COMFORT, oh so true, no one can give us the same feeling of comfort as Mamma.

ETERNITY, we live from her, with her, in her forever.

I reach out with a big Mamma-hug to you, dear Karen, who always succeeds in surprising us.

Love,
Margherita

Extremely clever, Karen!  Probably like everyone else, I tried to imagine what the word would be before I opened up your poem, but I couldn't begin to think of a single word.

For me the word/s would be "late ex-stepmother-in-law".

Mamma...
I didn't see that one coming.
Nice poem Seren.

Sidenote: What qualifies as angst, comfort and eternity for me is family. Can't live with them. Can't live without them.

Kudos to you,
~Jill

Nodding here.

My mom suffered a stroke. (Prayers welcomed, btw.) So I was thinking on this stuff, and recalled something a nurse friend of mine had said about how the word "Mama" was the word she heard most often from her patients, no matter how old they were. I just thought there was something equally sacred and primal in that.

Thanks for reading. I was up watching the clock all night. I think I'll try to exhale tonight and tuck in early.

Love to all.

Karen~
And from this lady who KNOWS what power prayer holds, comes mine for your dear Mamma~

Love you and am thinking with my heart on you and yours my friend~

From my bed at my son's home ... ah, the beauty of being able to sink into a bathtub of hot steamy water again~ *sigh*

Curled up in my beddie-bye, snuggled in my special blankie ... eating a cup of Haagen-Das Strawberry Ice-of-cream~
Ah ... peace is mine this night~

Karen, prayers for your Mom's recovery from her stroke.

"Mama" ~ I can hear you softly saying it with such love and reverence. God bless you both.

And sweet dreams to our Marge. It sounds as though she is as snug as a bug in a rug this evening and that makes me happy!

Love to all,
Linda

Dear Karen, now I read in your reply where this springs from and your "Mamma" is heard and perceived deeply in my heart.
I join in a heartfelt prayer for your Mamma's speedy recovery.
Love and hugs.

"Mamma" is sitting up, she's speaking again, feeding herself, and she recognized everybody today!

Hmmm...if all goes well, she's gonna wake up real grouchy in the morning, wanting to know why the hell she's still there.

(I come by it naturally, folks.)

Love to all--love my funny mamma too.

How true, Karen.  My mom's been gone 12 years and I still miss her daily.

Glad to hear your mom is doing better.

God bless each of you.
