you whispered through pieces of you
like shards of lovely
without the edges of glass

a woman with soft eyes and stairs
I would climb daily often
just to kneel at your spring of sighs

the man of me too was broken
and pieces of stone were discovered
under the waving of my hands

closer to my heart's mind
than I would ever mention
unless you would listen then

and smile at my eyes as a healing
