Message in a Bottle This message I have, I hope it is found Before it’s too late, To a bottle, it is bound It’s a cry of joy, But of help too I’m on this island, Just my thoughts and me So many thoughts, it can be overwhelming But comforting too I scribbled them down, On this message in a bottle I sit there and wait As it drifts off to sea Bobbing through the waves, Becomes the size of a pea I know there is land, Somewhere out there I’ve been lost for so long, I forgot the way Six long months have passed Since I last sent my message in a bottle Six long months have passed As I’ve waited for an answer Lying in the sand, enjoying the sun I look up and see, A boat out at sea To rescue me Six long months have passed My prayers have been answered These thoughts I have had They have all came true As the boat comes nearer, A sunset behind it Deep hues of orange, purple and red galore I see the captain that’s manning the wheel This captain I’ve seen, Six long months ago My one true love, Oh, I’ve missed her so Six long months have passed My message in a bottle was found By the one it was meant for, I’m sure she is proud The bottle contained a note, And on the note it read: “My dear, I’m here, Here in your heart, Have nothing to fear, I’m here, my dear.” I had hoped one day, That she would return To my side, where I am whole She has returned It’s been six long months, Since I’ve seen her last I wrote down my note And prayed for the best Stranded on an island of thoughts With a pillow of memories And a blanket of images Of her at my side My message in a bottle That I sent out to sea My goal was to find her Have her come to me |
