Making Room

Do what you have to do.
I have no right to you
though I have the sense to know
I don't know how to let you go.

I do believe I failed you somehow
but this is over and done now
you do what you have to do
and I will be here for you.

I'm not sure of any other way
I'll keep to myself what I have to say
deeper than where the darknesses flow
beyond my oceans never to let you go.

Only you, you were and are
you'll see that I'll go that far
to hold you in my eyes
and in my heart that cries.

I do what I have to do today
unable to recognize what I'm unable to say
might I be broken like then but soon
you will see that I have made the room.

Do what you have to do.
I'll be here for you
because I have the sense to know
I don't know how to let you go.

I generally choose to avoid rhyme...
but, these are particularly fine lines!:

"Do what you have to do.
I'll be here for you
because I have the sense to know
I don't know how to let you go(!)"

applause!!

Passing shadows,

This has nice, and simple end rhymes.

You are a true alchemist...turning the lead of hurt into the gold of your words.
