The sky Has a grim Look today A gray tones The horizon line With something In the coloring About which No birds sing Except perhaps That mourning dove Whose plaintive call Stills the neighborhood No matter how soft Or far away Time will change The current mood Life goes on Or so I’m told With you not here . |

If there is such a thing as a ' fine blues' poem...this is it! [it also effectively strikes resonating emotional chords in the reader's psyche as does the best folk music classics (of Woody and Arlo Guthrie, et al)] serious, sustained applause for this 'write!' |
