Reality of Life By Paul Wilson Stomp the grapes plucked from vine Saturday night aristocrats need their wine Wineries say it’s another good year Tell that to the liquor store cashier Grocery store chains keep getting bigger With prices so high what’s to figure Blame the weather it’s dryer and warmer Tell that to the local farmer Wives clipping coupons each day Trying to save a penny some way Two for one the add says so nice Only to find they’ve doubled the price How will the poor folks get ahead Some of us can’t afford to buy bread Medicine needs re-filling now What do they think I’m a cash cow We work hard all our life Just to support three kids and a wife Hoping for that one big break Praying we don’t make a mistake Credit cards our ticket to ride When the bills come due we try to hide I’ve had it up to here we say I know there’s got to be a better way I’ll get of my soap box… okay Hell their re-possessing it today Just one more thought before I go How high will the price of gas go ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ Paul [This message has been edited by Paul Wilson (06-21-2008 04:24 PM).] |

That's quite the reality check! Too bad that it's right on the money! ~ of which we all seem to have too little of these days! It's downright scary! Linda...Thanks, you are so right, a tough pill to swallow these days with the cost of living going up so much...Paul Margherita...Thanks for the read, just one I wrote a couple years ago that seems to fit the situation we are in.
