Time Restrained

For a long time I’ve not been around
and I fear a long time more.
Not because I’ve simply fallen out
but work knocks on my door.
It seems that to just get things done
I’m working dawn to night.
The problem is, I like my work,
and things must turn out right!

My mind is full of everything
that makes a Company grow,
so full of different avenues
my muse could never show.
So my love of rhyming poetry
will have to sit and wait,
until the time when all evolves
I’m in the hands of fate!

But the spark that kindles poetry
still smoulders in my mind.
suppressed by other pressures
of a far more urgent kind.
But when it starts to flicker
like a moth drawn to the flame
I am draw by its attraction
for this hunger I can’t tame.

I suppose I’ll still be absent
from my passion for a bit,
but like time and tide’s persistence
there’s no way of stopping it.
So I’ll see you in a morrow
that will have to come one day,
when I’ll put my pen on paper
in my own peculiar way!

Ivor G Davies

The moment created this second, is a  moment that's going to last.
It lives the full spectrum of time, the future, the present and past.

Ivor! Thank you for at least letting us know what has been keeping you from us!

And I am relieved to know that the fires of poetry still burn brightly in your poet's soul!
~ as is evidenced in this delightful penning!

It was wonderful to see a post with your name next to it!

Good luck in all of your endeavours!

Giving you a warm hug of love,
Linda

Thanks Linda, I really am 24/7 at the moment as we work to grow our Company. The UK is looking to switch off anaologue TV over the next few years and we have to recruit and train digital skills possibly to another 1000 people over two years.

Sorry I've not looked in or responded on others work, when things quieten down a bit I am sure I'll be back!

Ivor

I have thought of you and was a bit concerned to not see you around.  I am so happy to hear about your job and that you like it.  I miss you here in PiP, but am thrilled to know that you will be returning as time allows.

Keep in touch, my friend.

As you succeeded now, you will succeed in the future. When we can't follow our passion we feel like lacking something, but it is good to hear you have passion for your work too.
I think many can relate to what you conveyed!

Love,
Margherita
