a ramble of sorts

~~**~~
here is how I hurt
in the memory of such orchids
they bleed like innocence’s
some element of color
blue, green, pink
their flesh of winter/s

I hurt     because I can
because it bears no witness
to my tongue

because it bears no witness to
the glass that shatter/s--
but the memory is there in some silver
light that begs my attention
in your palm; like a child praying

  & rain storms breathe heavy--

wrapped in their own small language
a cradle of some love, long forgotten
how precious the blue; your color,

when I remember such visions
to behold  once more

I am tangled in some color of the moon

some pureness--

wishing and waiting
for the rise

the seek of
    long hours -- each garden
to lay beneath my sleep

the sorrow of my dreams hovers over the green song-
when I can arise and say there is no darkness in my nightmares
--
but  I am
    a reckless soul--

searching for the secret--

    learning the speech of echoes

in such rivers--

when you bear wildflowers
and  hold your palms closed--

when my eyes forget the difference
between night and day--

the same green weave I've made--

         I imagine you
at the edge of my language

your reflection stirring the day
before the world can translate
a meaning

and daylight falls
dusk to twilight

  in silvermemory

Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain

I have one criticism of your poetry and it is a very serious one.  We get far too little of it!

When I see a Greeneyes poem, I pounce on it, save it into my Greeneyes folder even before I have read it, read it, savour it, experience it, read it again, and feel very smug that I can go back to it and read it again whenever I wish, even if I lose my Internet connection.

As always, your poem is the essence of what poetry should be and do - and you sure have me dancing in the rain.

Oh Lauren it was all just so exquisitely Greeneyes but I happen to absolutely love this line
quote:
I hurt because I can
because it bears no witness
to my tongue

Oh my Gumbo! If you were looking for a way to intimidate a newby this poem did the trick. I'm slightly, well ok, largely awed. Wowzers!

Honest and true and without your delicate touch, this might have felt too raw...

you have such soft edges lovie.

You've been missed.
