Smile for Heaven I trumped the summer breeze With a smile that greeted Heaven When past days I framed a frown My heart in tears of invisible fears The many memories of pain and guilt Shadows of my soul attempted to flee Only to return with promises of forgiveness Then dream after dream The subtle visions became clearer Like the sweet taste of honey Gluing pieces of endless bliss That only the faithful will witness Such beauty And peaceful completeness Masking sorrow with the presence of love Like an infant removed from the womb So do I embrace the day in kindness Slowly plucking the flower’s scent A hint of jasmine and mint on Angel’s breath Inhaling this moment which could be the last Appreciating the love God has for me……… Marcel |
