Oui, Yann, tu as raison. C'est un poème qui est impossible de traduire. Je vais l'éxpliquer en anglais. I was playing with words, starting with "everyone"; and then the opposite of that is "no one"; which can also be spelt "know one"; and it can also be spelt "no won"; and then moving the "w" that becomes "now on"; and backwards it is "on now" and phonetically that is almost "honour"; and that can be spelt "on a"; and that made me think of "onomatapoeia" which I spelt "on a mat/ a peer"; and that sounded like a place and the opposite of a place is "nowhere"; and the opposite of that is "everywhere" and all of that seemed colourless, tasteless and odourless, so I added "a taste of orange" for colour taste and smell. - Owl [This message has been edited by OwlSA (06-16-2008 12:07 PM).] |

Oh, thank you, Linda! Please tell Angel that she is beeeeeeyoooooooootiful! And that is the opinion of all 3 of us! Of course, Daisy is blind, but she just knows that Angel is beautiful - besides she hears her brother Tigger and her mommy saying so! What a lovely surprise that was! Of course, I know you won't mind that I have saved Angel's picture - please don't forget to tell her! - Owl |

I have just seen that Angel's meeow blessings and picture was for Flicka too! That is even more special! As you know, he adores cats and this will make him so happy! Thank you Linda and Angel. You are both darlings! Love - Owl, Flicka, Tigger and Daisy |

We're all just one big happy family! ~ oh, and Angel is so happy that you think that she is "beeeeeeyoooooooootiful" and that you saved her picture. (She is a tad bit vain, you know.) Love from the Angel duo! |

No, Angel isn't even a tad vain. She is auto-aesthetically appreciative as well as warm-heartedly appreciative of admiration. - Owl |

i know that the "orange" was to add colour to the poem but it was enlightening and entertaining to read your thought process behind it. your explanation reminds me of a scene from a movie, "The History Boys", in which this teacher confided that his unorthodox methods were done in the name of "sheer calculated silliness". ah, to be purposefully silly, like your musing |

Thank you Henk. I am delighted that you enjoyed my thought processes behing the poem and I am very flattered that it reminded you of the movie you describe. I used to be a school teacher and I miss it terribly at times. Also "sheer calculated silliness" is one of my delights and has come into quite a few of my poems. I am so glad you enjoyed it. It was fun to write. - Owl |

Thank you Richy - and I love how you create such beauty in your poems. Giggles, Garapan. Enjoyed you trying to sell sea shells in response to Richy's poem! - Owl |
