Picking Up Life There was once a magic touch that could fill the empty. For years I drank of it, letting it be the illusion of forever. But "through pride what destruction" could leave me yearning, as I watched you sleep away the best years of a life, leaving the storming behind now... and I having to wade through the flooding of emotions reminding when we were "once the toast of the town". Different tears reign down now, of sorrow, of hurt, of exhaustion, from the loss of time that one can never get back. For years I drank of it, that magic touch, letting it be the illusion of forever. M "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less." |

Dear Maureen, your emotion filled poem is so extremely touching, it hurts. But your title shows that you are now ready to drink from a new cup, sipping drops of new joy and serenity to sprout upon the healed wounds of your heart. You have giftem him with your selfless love, what more could have been done? This love was never wasted, it will continue to work and eventually carry him through. May you bloom anew on your own and be freed from your sadness. It's a joy to have you posting again after an interval that seemed quite long to me. Love and hugs. Margherita |

OH Maureen, you always write with such true emotion. You know I know these feelings you write of. Truth is, I wore myself out chasing my own tail for so long. Life goes on and on, and half the time we are helpless to change the course of it. Love and hugs, and all that good stuff~ |

Margherita, not so sure about a new cup to drink from, maybe just throwing away the spoiled knowing that it has to be UP from here...whatever path is ahead of me. Thank you for your supportive and kind words. Thank you for reading, ARCTIC WIND. BluesSerenade you are so right. At least the worst is over for now. (He got probation before judgement and has to be on his best behavior and abstain from drinking and pay fines for the next two years). That part of it is done and next is the "getting back to living", hoping that there may be something positive to come out of all this for each of us. Missing you~~ M Thank you Dixie...keeping good thoughts for you. Hugs M |
