~*~

You were the darkest shade of blue before the rains came
the breath of spring and the promise of renewal
an endless whirl of winds in the offing.

You were the anticipation and thrill of it all
that waits to wade in summer sapphire shades
strung out along the strand of time.

It was you who hinted at the glints
sparkling on the horizon
within my grasp, beyond my reach.

As if a spin drift had picked up the breeze
making my heart skip, you were sheer blue
an endless passion in clear view.

We traced the clouds with finger tips
embracing the moments and polishing the edges
while we skirted and skimmed the sands.

You taught me about low tides
and secret coves where water pools
splashed in shades of blue.

You were the soft touch
that sends a chill
and carries over on wayward winds.

You were my mood setter
the catcher of my breath taking in the twilight
a kindred spirit that builds a fire inside.

Warming my thoughts in winter
you were puffs of smokewood
and the frosted blue blanket of snow that kept me covered.

You were a stream of steam rising to the top
my song for every star.
as constant as the break of waves.

When I write of you, in royal blue
my eyes glass over
where you surface in all your splendor.

A slow take, unobscured
blending color and clarity
that comes to life.

Lingering long
after the moments gone
you are the best part ofmy dreams.

Dashing in shades of blue
that never fade.

~ I saved this as soon as I came to the end of this emotional read. I understand this poem, I felt this poem ~ and I admire your talent and the depth of love in your beautiful, bluesy heart.

You serenade your readers, so softly ~ so sweetly.

May there always be love in your life,

Linda

Deep, deep, deep, sigh...

Dear Bluesy,

Everytime I read another poem you've written I'm sure that it will remain my favorite of your's, but I just realized, they will just all, have to be my favorites.

I adore this one.
And I adore your spirit.
