Photobucket

There is a theory of crying,
that tears are the body's way
of shedding excess elements from the brain,
faith will not save us,
for all its rabid, haywaire abandon,
as it plucks and skins,
on a binge, to strip the heart
of its shiny, blue anatomy,
like a lie
that leaves you open,
two wrongs make a right,

[insert bird for sorrow, a dove, perhaps]

and slow bees as they spin
the thick deep jute of some golden hour's passing,
the pollen's traceless retreat,
in my garden, the hyacinths have uprooted,
and reach for Lethe, oblivion and swift decay,
for ardor is a mere season,
and eternity,
the long hours of desolation
I've lined with garlands of eggshells and rubies,
how silly you are, Trinket,

On Sundays the kingfishers
enter their kingdom,
their blue crowns on fire,
and feast upon the flies in my heart,

                     [insert hologram for absence]

meet me in the dovecote, my love,
I will be waiting, and waiting,

There is theory of dreaming,
that each one serves to mend something torn,
like the cells of new skin,
splayed open with a secret's restless soul,
as it surrenders its recess
and fades with the blue songs
that nest in my nights,
like a long narrative of birds
asleep beneath the pitch
of their dark wings, pinions
of sorrow, in my dream,

something tastes like licorice,
and now we must ask the body for a way back,
for this is the last, they say
the whole world is warming by imperceptible degrees,
the end of color,
faith won't save us anymore,
here are the jewelthreads
and throbbings I need to leave,
alleluia, sever and stitch,

after hearing the frost warnings,
I've snipped all the flowers to make bouquets
and bring them into the house, to die,
alleluia, the blue cicadas mourn their loss
in quick crescendos,
and I am learning, at last,
the names of our failures,
geranium,
sunflower,
magnolia,
azalea,

[insert hail for an apocalypse, of sorts]

each June day more furious.

bel1e,

I had to come back to this because I kept getting distracted by various demanding animals.  This is quite a piece of writing.  I don't have a favorite part because I like it in its complete form.

I do know that I will be back to read again.

Wonderful.

One of the most intriguing poets I've never met--I did you disservice once by saying "pretty words"--there's much though and emotion into your well-chosen words.

LOVED THIS:

" [insert hologram for absence]"

Stuff like that invites your readers to make your poems individualized performance pieces. I think my own misplaced dissatisfaction was because I read you trying to know you better, and you seem to write in hopes we know ourselves better.

Even if that's not the case? *chuckle* I ask less questions and enjoy you more.

Drop me a line, I implore yet again, regarding your faerytales...

Those are nearest and dearest to my heart since, well, I do seem to enjoy the symbolist interpretation.

You are a treat to read. You packed so many highly significant issues into this masterfully written piece. Things are really all upside down, we are in a world of transition and even the theory of relativity seems open to new "adjustments" (how exciting!) ... I still trust that LOVE will save us from ruining our habitat ... but awareness dawns so slowly, it makes one want to shout. Yet I relax in the knowing that we are children of eternity. Here on Earth or elsewhere we shall BE.

Please come more often to visit the blue pages, you are stirring creativity.

Love,
Margherita

I liked how you set the stage at the beginning, with tears.
Your poem gets the reader thinking and feeling and reasoning
with their own void and empty places, in part anyway.

What a truly fabulous piece of writing, I am so in awe and truly fascinated.
I admire your skill and ability to write such raw emotion
and weave a common thread that runs deep in the heart of mankind.
