1   Their hearts beating next to mine.
The rhythm of our blood crescendos,
until they find outside of me, a world their own.

2    Their life was formed in the house of me.

3    To be a woman is my one true sacrament
for which I am not worthy but shall be healed.

4    I fed and nourished them from my womb.

5    I am a lifegiver, but would take life from any
    that dare steal my gift.

6   They are the light of the sun from a summer blue sky, shining through kelly green leaves.
7    They are shades of love sent among chaos
to remind me of the solace of heaven.
8    They are born the best of two but their perfection exists through His Holy One.

9   When they smile, I know the joy of heaven,
10  When they laugh, I know the sound of angels.
11  Even the dark is radiant in their sleepy presence.

12  They were Yours first and will be Yours last;
I have not forgotten this promise to you
on the day you delivered them to me.

13  Forget not this mother's psalm to them.
For I am grateful and humbled to feel
a fraction of what You must feel for me.

Thank you AK! Verse two is where this orginated from... I love hearing about where poems / prose /thoughts come from.  This did not start out as a pslam but as a thought after yelling my at my kids for not turning out the lights in our house!  hee hee... but, they are my children, and even through the humdrum, dull, mundane parts of life, I always know who to thank for them and what my role is.  THanks all for the nice words!

This is such a heart warming and touching poem. It really is a "Psalm". Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
