To my faithful friend …a 1990 black and white …maple neck Fender precision Bass The baritone sounds crush the ground From the thunderous E to the ringing a bell 19th D Phalanges fly like butterfly wings caressing the maple Gliding, sliding, pressing, urgent Their message delivered….they move on And the thunder creeps up your spine a feeling Devine A wondrous thing This bass of mine It’ll wrench your soul and samba your feet It will move your heart and scatter your brain Up and down the senses go just as the sea it ebbs it flows Driving forcing guiding strong The sound escapes like a Lions roar The multitudes sway and move in time A wondrous thing This bass of mine Yes a wondrous thing this gift of music It heals your soars and fills your being With a beat so strong no heart could fail With a cry so strong no Mother could ignore With a longing so deep no lover could resist With a passion so dear ..A thought sublime It’s a wondrous thing This bass of mine |

My son is a musician at heart. It made me think of him for he is learning the guitar...lol... and oddly enough plays the baritone! Keep up the wonderful work. |

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh.... you captured that moment that I wait for when I'm listening/watching someone play. I can always tell when they hit that moment when they forget that anyone else is there. smile--they always look surprised when they open their eyes. You caught the groove on this one! Applause! |

Hello, Ray from Tenerife! That is in the Canary Islands, is it not? Beautiful place ~ haven't been there, but I've see photos! ![]() I'm in love with my guitar, as well! So I do understand the 'love affair' that you are having with yours! Mine is a six-string acoustic Epiphone made in Michigan, in the good ole USA. in the late 70's before they started making them in Korea. I could never sell that sweet sounding thing! I dug your poem so much, I'm saving it to my pip library! "Yes a wondrous thing this gift of music It heals your soars and fills your being" ~ yeppers! ![]() Warm hug and a big understanding smile! Love this, Ray. Music and poetry - what a wonderful combination! Poetry doesn't reach everyone (unfortunately), but music reaches everyone except the deaf and some psychopaths and some of the very mentally ill. It can do certainly do wondrous things, besides being a wondrous thing. - Owl |
