A NANO-FLUTTER’S GRACE 31 October 2006 Tonight, now, in joyous rebellion, I will shake my hair loose and pluck a lightning flash to wrap my spirit in the pulse of thunder-drums and poetry colours and slow-soaked peace, and I will twirl them around my fingers and my shoulders like an untamed, rainbow scarf and I will dance them barefoot on cool, wet grass . . . till the white thunder dies . . . and the clock ticks again . . . and the work shouts my name. - Owl |

Awesome imagery, Owl! Somehow I see fireflies whirling in the night, reading your poem. Lovely! |

This has a wonderful sense of freedom and abandon about it Diana. Ida |

Thanks, Ida. Sometimes I feel the need to break free. Other times I feel that I am already free. - Owl |

Oh MY! Yanno? You'd fit right in with my bunch of witches! This pretty much sums up what we're all about anyhow--joyous celebration of the "now", both within us--and outside of us, in a glorious moment of giddy unity. *shaking my head* I just knew it! |

I read this aloud, it was so cleansing! Made me want to shed my skin and run through the backyard. Thank you for such a refreshing write. ~Heather |

Thanks, yann. Sometimes the joie de vivre is there, and sometimes I have to plant it, nurture it and make sure it grows. Glad you liked my untamed, rainbow scarf, Kacy. Thanks for highlighting it. "Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble" - how am I doing, Karen? I have always wanted to be called a female dog - (had to remove a word because I got an Inappropriate Content Detected message) so that I can say, "what breed?", but nobody does. I suppose being called a witch is pretty close! I have often referred to my broom, so perhaps I am a more successful witch than I thought! Giggles. Thanks, Heather. I have always felt that it is of primary importance - except perhaps for some very modern format poems - that one reads poetry aloud. I am glad it sounded good and felt refreshing and cleansing. - Owl |
