long long ago memories, hidden in stacks of paper, protected through the years, Small, tiny faces, I see, some nice, some not so nice, happier times, simple times. Clothes, I remember, 70's dresses and shoes, my drawing of snowmen, neatly stapled to the board, my first artwork on display, little did we know, What was in store for all, the future is uncontrollable, we grow, we learn, we part. Mrs. Berry, a wonderful teacher, my birdhouse, made from icecream sticks, won first place, she kept it! My father gets all the honor, he helped me glue it, it was fun eating all that icecream. When I visited my parents, over the weekend, my mom gave them to me, She had kept them all these years, neatly in a folders inside a drawer, waiting for time to fade. Allowing my eyes to visit the past, reflections of my youth, I now clutch in my hands, Everytime I look at them, I enter into time travel, wishing I could be there again. You know you're in love, when you can't fall asleep, because reality is finally better than your dream~Dr.Seuss |
