Angelo was born
in the gutter.

He knows he was,
and that’s okay.

So what
are you going to
do about it—huh?

When he goes to school,
he has to read Macbeth.

The line about
“ditch delivered drab”
rings his chimes.

Angelo figures
he and Will-The-Shake
can get on real good.

Your might say I was born in the gutter too but I have always enjoyed art, literature, opera and other interests that I have had to actively seek out for myself.
Somehow I think people bring along some of their own interests when they come to earth.
Perhaps Angelo is a good example of this.

Thanks dear Ida,

Angelo is a very hard nosed type of person.  He knows exactly what he likes.  He's also a math genius, not that that has anything to do with what he likes.
