When I sit and try to write Often there is one huge fight Ego jumps in, says, “I know” Practiced patience never show. Then the critic on shoulder sits Shouts, “You really are the pits” “What makes you think you can speak?” Makes me feel both shy and weak Now its fear raising ugly head Self-pity helps keep it fed, “No-one listens, haven’t heard You can’t put truth into word!” Then once they have had their say Don’t return, until next day |

Dear Claira, Do me a favor and knock that critic of your shoulder and tell him that he's the pits. And while you're at it, you need to wrestle fear and self-pity into a chokehold until they tap out as well. This was sensitive, and poignant, and really just wonderful. And don't worry, those same three pin me down all the time too. Maybe we can tag team against them? Rich |

I'm choking up, thanks for the lovely comments. Richy - Yesterday was a particularly bad demon day. Thank you for your support. I've only just recently starting writing again. Hardly wrote anything for nearly 20 years, so I'm sure there will be more battles lol. Bobby - Thank you for your kind words. I will continue to wittle  Alison - I'll come round later.
