Toerag was getting older, Lost his muse for poems, His family decided, "He needs a nursing home." Toerag seemed quite happy, Bed baths by young sweet girls, Some with low cut blouses, With lovely blond hiar curls. They fed him gourmet meals Had a lovely garden view, Gave him crayons to color with Always things to do. The nurses noticed Toerag, If left for any time, Would start to lean right over, So they'd lean him straight in line. He'd lean out to the left, They'd straighten him and then, He'd lean off to the right, They'd set him straight again. His family came to visit, Asked how he liked the "home" He answered with frustration, Which started with a moan. "I've only one complaint, My stomach's growing fast, The nurses here won't let me, Lean out to pass some gas." |

I don't think a person who could write this amusing poetry is ready for the nursing home. Joyce |

Sniffs -- something smells around here. Reminds me of a joke I read recently. A hypnotist goes to a nursing home to entertain the patients. He takes his father's antique watch from his pocket and tells the elderly that he is going to hypnotise them - all they have to do is watch the watch. He chants softly -- Watch the watch. Watch the watch. Watch the watch. Suddenly, he drops the watch and mutters, "shoot." It took the nursing home staff three hours to clean up the mess. --- Sorry, I couldn't resist. Your trademark Toe Twist at the end, was a cracker! Your poem reminded me of an incident when I was a student nurse. I had this gentleman (and I use the term loosely! lol) patient who had had a stroke. I had tied him up in a chair (get your mind out of the gutter! ~ it was per doctor's order) but he kept slumping all over the place. He kept smiling when I would put my arms around him to pull him back up into an upright position. When I bent over the bed to straighten it up, he swiftly reached out his 'good' arm and thrust it right up my uniform dress! Oooo! He was an 80 year old nudist! ~ What a character! I'm sure you would keep all the nurses lapping 'n dancing ~ I mean "laughing 'n dancing" at your shenanigans! Linda |
