The end of the day is just the beginning for some. As those sleep at home peacefully in their beds, most are unaware of those who work through the night protecting everything they posess; freedom, peace, and unity. As a whole, their actions are well known. For those individuals involved, they are only a shadow of of the entity itself. Very few do get recognized, but those that do have gone beyond what any human being would do; saving the life of a fellow mortal by giving their own. Sacrifice is what puts us apart from everyone else. Not one person serving today was drafted. All are part of a volunteer workforce that sacrifices their time and life for their country. Those left behind live in melancholy and fear. They understand that what their siblings, significant others or even spouses are going through and live day by day. To those who wait for their loved ones to come back, patience is the best engine that runs you through your day-to-day lives. Never depend on what is to come, as anything could happen. Prepare yourselves for what is ahead. Prepare yourselves for any possibility that may arise during our absence. |

Welcome to Passions. You speak so truly about our service men and women. The daily lives of those that wait behind a veil of caring but not always fully understanding. Thanks for writing this. |
