"Trials" I’ve made mistakes, as every human has That at the time seemed oh so very great Yet fortunate for me, there was a plan Laid down in days of old for me by Fate And I can still recall the sense of dread That plagued my soul in times of worried doubt When life seemed to have closed and barred its gate To leave my bleeding heart alone without But each and every time I’d given up Somehow another chance would come my way Restoring all the faith my heart had lost And helping me to face another day I’ve weathered each and every storm that’s come Though some have proven harder than the rest And, fragile though it is, my hope shines on To light my way through life at Fate’s behest AMdG "My candle burns at both ends; it will not last the night; but ah, my foes, and oh, my friends--it gives a lovely light!" -Edna St. Vincent Millay |
