OK the titles misleading. It's a little dark I maybe should have poted in the dark poetry forum but I wasn't sure, so here it is

Simply Laughing

Death sits upon his throne,
Black cap flapping in the wind,
A smile there
Upon his face,
As he laughs at the loss,
Which we ourselves bring,
All to ourselves,
We make this suffering.

And so death sits above us,
With his ghastly grin,
And waits,
Simply calling out names.

Ever do those souls
Crawl up word to the throne.
Ones he has called,
Who’s time is now gone,
And those which,
He has not.
And so he sits,
Simply laughing,
As the gun shot cries out another name,
Which he did not.
But he opens his arms,
To them all,
The dead
He did not call.
The blood which we have gave to him,
His sacrifice.
As he sits,
Like a god, upon his throne of bones.

A great write, dear April.

No doubt it is thought provoking.

For me death is a transition and it should not frighten us therefore, but the mystery is still great and what we don't know we fear.

But the worst of deaths is not to LIVE while we are here, yes.

Love and joy of being alive to all.

AAB,

In the line:

"Crawl up word to the throne."

should that be "upward"?

Color me puzzled.

Some deep disturbing imagery inspiring the fear that death deals most of us. Thank you for sharing
