Opening your heart
to the sounds of nothing
is like a breeze no one can feel
waiting to live life
on the edge of a world set on fire.

We close our eyes
and step into the unknown
not knowing what to expect
hoping to never
lose sight of something that got away.
Falling through our fears
afraid that it will never be seen again
trying harder than ever
to open our eyes
and embrace what it means to me.
Amazed at my strength
finally opening my eyes
wrapping my arms around it
thinking of and cherishing what is close to me
the one and only brilliant mind I have.
