Felix has been clubbed,
whipped,
raped,
starved,
worked half to death,
and yet he’s not bitter
against the world.

He looks around him
and sees beauty everywhere—
beauty in human thing,
such as his Sally,
and his Angelo.

You can have your flowers,
your mountains,
your rivers,
your oceans,
your blue sky,
your gentle spring nights,
your moon,
your star.

Well—
you can take it all
and enjoy it.

Felix loves humanity.

Bobby

Felix's spirit is alive and well! ~ in spite of
what humanity ~ rather, what inhumanity ~ has done to him.

The pressures that he has endured has turned the proverbial 'lump of coal' into a bright, multi-faceted diamond! ~ who is able to love humanity!

Smiling here!

Felix must have a large heart.  With the downfalls of today's humanity, often not acting very human--it show a generous nature.

Felix is an archetype of the "everyman" type who dwells among us---rare, and unforgettable!

Really enjoyed this---

Dear Bobby, in his tough life Felix has met some key people who made him see beyond the pain, otherwise it would almost be impossible to love this humanity who treated him so badly.

Having seen all the weaknesses in men, yet also their strength, makes it easier to understand and accept what is. We all, no one excluded, contain light and shadow sides.

You surely have expressed this concept well.

Love,
Margherita

Thanks dear Margherita,

Yes, that's true.  Everyone has a light and a shadow side.

I'm glad you liked the poem.

Thanks for your kind attention.
