This is one of my favorites. Until the Demise of Then You might not know that I love you if I don't say it once or twice a year But I do anyhow more than I say so Even though it's what you want to hear That you care for me in those little things you do asking not for thanks or glory But patiently go about doing small chores while listening to my uninteresting story Would I bedeck you with jewels on rings or take you to places of beautiful views I'm glad that you are happy to stay with me and say that I'm the man that you'd choose It's a good thing that you don't require a trip or fur or heavy gold necklace 'round your neck Since I haven't the money now nor is it likely to fall into my hands by fortune's misstep All I have are the words that I can write and say to you under guise of my pen I love you today and into tomorrow too forever from now until the demise of then |
