We mourned our dead of War today. Just now at eight, the trumpet spoke, the tune of tears of those who died, in unbelieve till moments last. Still, fewer speak the words of truth while memories grow longer. Until one day there's nothing left, but books and films and hear say. Even then, we'll hang our flag half way, to mourn our dead on the fourth of May and put some flowers in silenced voice, at the graves of those, who had no choice. We mourned our dead of War to day. Just now at eight, the trumpet spoke, the tune of tears of those who died, in unbelieve till moments last. Like scattered leaves...my words will flow |

I can hear the bugler taps all the way across the ocean. I join you in honouring those who bravely fought and died. In Canada we have Remembrance Day and that is on November 11th of each year. A moving poem, dear Titia. ![]() Linda |

This is a beautiful rememberance, Titia. Too often we dwell on the big countries with the big armies and we don't give enough thought or praise to all of the other countries whose men and women contributed so greatly. I salute all of your brave citizens who gave their all when their country called. Bless tham...and bless you, Dutchie ![]() |
