leather is lovely music
dressed in it's abrasion over ivory
and tempting the smooth marble

I blow across the knots
and circle the silk in sooth
slipknots for pristine pleasures

and then there are your eyes
almost angry with willing
almost willing with anger

helpless as my hands are praying
for the windows to be soldiers
wooden but they wouldn't mind

the past time of our voyeur evenings

to overcome
the personal cravings
of the human heart

returns us
to the impersonal state
that is the heart of Tao

but that is why
our imperfect journey
is difficult,

for our hearts
do crave.

You know, D, it amazes me how silk and leather can make the notes soar.  Even when the conductor's hands are tied behind his back.  It's just one of those marvelous things in life.
