Blurry vision, shielding me from the truth Too real for my eyes to comprehend; I’m dizzy from all the commotion. My head sways with fatigue. Knees buckling with pressure; Sweat beads on my forehead. I hear voices, but can’t understand. Snapping into consciousness, I can feel my veins now. My mother to my left, sister behind me… Who’s that through the windshield? Leaning over awkwardly, For a brief moment, pure silence takes over my mind. I look around to check everything. And out of the corner of my eye. My mother lets out a loud gasp. Blood flowing freely from her mouth; This can’t be happening I think. Sirens grind my eardrums like sandpaper. Bending metal sends shivers down my spine. Tunnel vision setting in, I grab my mothers hand. Even though she couldn’t hear me now, I still told her I loved her. |

This came across as a horrific, true-life experience! Oh, Preston, I hope that none of you were seriously injured. Your description of the event was so vivid! I could picture the whole dreadful scene! ~ I could feel the horror! Be well, Linda |
