Aeon The tender touch of friends Feeling for me in my surreal daze Searching for words to ease back a sobering truth That loss is a heavy thing Such weight, as to make soundless the earth Muting sensitive and vivid even the wind The closest kind cannot reprieve inevitable silence Unfathomable, then unconscionable Life demands continuance, responsibility and faith The longest lasting winter prevails until it is done Seasons pass translucent, miming the memory they knew And so on, until spring finally comes Holding against me, as if comfort from the final chill Though, what should be said and hoped to know Nothing leaves this world unfinished Called early, simply speaks the artists mind upon conception Taking back all innocence, held close in God’s arms Beyond the sun, a universe is born Making heard in the human heart all that needs be said Nothing leaves this world unfinished For perfect is the love that made it so Copyright Kkh 4/29/08 |
