Haiku Trio

1
Wintery April
Ice stays late on northern lakes
Loons are impatient

2
Only one warbler
in this cold migration
Juncos refuse to leave

3
An April wind
rattles my bedroom window
Uneasy season

Krawdad, I am so happy you are back!

And I love your haiku trio, they capture the mood of nature and the perception of the human heart extremely well.

Beautiful!

Love,
Margherita

Oh, Krawdad, thank you!

We've had this marvelous little bird visiting us in our new home these last three years, and it was one that I hadn't seen in our other home, even though we live in the same town. I could never remember the correct name for them.

I wonder if they stay at this house because here, we've got arbor vitae trees. They seem to hold up there during the winter months, but make wonderful guests at the seed trough.

I knew the moment I read your second haiku, that your bird was "our" bird, but I Googled them all the same and Yep!

Sigh. Thank you!

Brother truer words were never "haikued" I tell you.  I think we have really ticked Mother Nature off.  It is freezing here too, and normally we would be darn near in full bloom.

Lovely trio Krawdad, and again, Happy Birthday to you.
