I glance behind to years gone by
to trace the path I've taken,
It seems my way was round-about,
the straightest route forsaken,
In fact it seems that were times,
I knew not where I traveled,
As if my planned for destination,
came totally unraveled.
But through it all one constant thread,
you were at my side,
Since the day we joined as one,
my wife, my love, my guide,
Sometimes the journey has been rough,
fraught with pain and sorrow,
Sometimes the way was filled with joy,
whil'st watched our children grow,
As I gaze on memories past,
My future's yet to be,
I matters not the route I'll take,
for you'll be there with me.

This is a true love poem, a seasoned poem, written after you have learned something about love.
