These thoughts are penned for my young cousin who lost his life nearly two years ago.. today they released the maritime report of the accident... such a loss, such a senseless loss..

It was a day like any other
the sun was shining
the sky was clear
birds were circling in the air
those on deck were laughing
some were even singing
then without warning
chaos and fear
two waves one after the other
crashed on deck
the first one rolled the boat
heavily on its side
the second wave
tipped it over
they had no chance
four people trapped
beneath the surface
a grandfather
his daughter
two grandsons aged 9
never to breathe
never to smile
never to cry
others tried to swim to shore
2 never made it
6 dead forever
the maritime report released today
says the boat was unseaworthy
and yet the skipper lives

senseless beyond belief…

Dear RDB,

You’ve described an inexplicable tragedy--one of those never to be figured out.  It’s very sad.

Hi Roniece I would have like to never comment this tragedy....The kids were so young that there is a sentiment of  injustice in this story...You are courageous and wish they will never be forgotten...

One more thoughtless, senseless accident that touches so many lives.  Even more sad when children who have no control are taken.  Love, Joyce

thank you everyone... your words of comfort hold me up ... 3 generations of a family were wiped out in this tragedy which happened on Mother's Day, 13 May 2006 in New Zealand...

The two little ones were below deck sleeping when the waves hit... hopefully they didn't suffer long...   love RDB

Oh Ronice, I am so very sorry for this senseless tragedy. Sometimes this world is a very cold and dark place that makes no sense at all… You will never forget and your beautiful and love filled words will forever keep their memories alive.

This brings profound uneasiness, as we can never comprehend why such tragedies do occur. Senseless is the word indeed, dearest Roniece. Your words convey the deep sadness very powerfully.

((((Roniece)))).
Love and hugs.

Roniece - How touching your penning is and how hard it is to come face to face with such a tragedy.  I feel the impact of your words deeply!

if only .....

the delay in such a report of a tragedy as this held no water

    that time healed all wounds

without ill tidings, the Captain surely goes down with its ship

                                                 .... thoughts are with you
