Tall Tales and Sailin’ Men He was a hearty sailing man Who loved to sail the sea Had many a misfortune, but angry no not he One night a sittin’ in the town tavern he was a tellin’ his tale Now as ya all see mate’s I have a wooden leg, a hook for me arm, and a patch over me eye. A mate from another ship yells Say Cappy......How did ya lose yur leg? Well mate it was on a stormy night Had a little to much ale I did. Fell right in that ole rollin’ sea Well me mates pulled me in and a mean ole shark bit me leg off clear up to me knee As ya see I have an ole wooden leg Must have been mighty painful Cappy? Aye mate! Mighty painful How did you lose yur arm Cappy? Did ya lose it at sea? No mate....Lost that in a barroom fight This mean ole varmit pinned me down and cut off me arm right up to me elbow Now I have me a hook for me arm and hand Boy Cappy that must have been painful? Aye mate! Mighty painful Did you lose yur eye at sea Cappy? Yep....... I shore did. A big ole seagull was a flyin’ by I was a lookin’ up and plop right into me eye Boy Cappy did it have a lot of acid in it? Is that why you lost yur eye? Well ! No Mate. It was my first day with me hook................ Hugs BonBon  |
