Smiles all around in two-dimensional space, rosy cheeks still aglow in the emulsion of a former time . . . The questions arise—why the permanence of things that do not breathe and hurt? Why the impermanence of joy that once seemed eternal? Why hang pictures that so often tell lies? |

As I read this one I decided to look at what I had hanging on the wall and sitting about the room. On the walls are pictures of nature, pictures that I have taken that had caught my eye. Sitting on furniture are pictures of my son as a babe, in his band uniform as a teenager, now a grown man with his date to a party. My parents now gone. A sisiter now gone. Me as a young girl.If one would stop and look at these pictures their is history in the smiles. Good Jobber on this poem. Hugs BonBon |

Gilead, This is very good writing. The only pictures that I hang on my wall are painting by my oldest daughter. I think it’s best to not hang pictures of relatives. There is always the danger that they won’t like the way they look. So I avoid it all together. Bobby |
